How PT Helps Pelvic Floor

The goals of this curriculum are for women suffering from chronic pelvic pain (CPP) to develop an understanding of the signs and symptoms, anatomy, function and dysfunction of the pelvic floor and pelvic pain; and how it can affect bladder, bowel and sexual function. As well, participants will understand how and why physical therapy is integral in the treatment and management of pelvic pain and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach including self-care.








WHAT CLASS WILL COVER

The class will cover the anatomy, function and dysfunction of the pelvic floor and pelvic pain; and how it can affect bladder, bowel and sexual function. The class will also explain how and why physical therapy is integral in the treatment and management of pelvic pain and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach including self-care.


WHO THIS IS FOR

Women 18-100 years old. If pain or symptoms increase seek the help of a healthcare provider.
