This class will discuss pain with vaginal intercourse in women in an open, safe environment. We will take a “tour” of basic female anatomy, trouble-shoot the common causes of sexual pain in women, and discuss where to start in addressing vaginal dryness, positional sexual pain, and communication about sexual pain with your partner.
WHAT CLASS WILL COVER - Basic female anatomy including the vulva, vagina, female reproductive organs, and pelvic floor muscles. - Common causes of female sexual pain, including hormone changes (related to menopause or certain medications), infections, skin conditions, and tight pelvic floor muscles. - First-step treatment approaches to pain with sex, when to see a women’s health provider, and how to discuss this with your doctor or nurse practioner.
